It was a stormy election night when members of the East Lynn Community Association “Eating Club” gathered at the Antique Table, 2 Essex St, Lynn, MA. This cozy Italian restaurant sitting at the Lynn/Swampscott line has a fabulous reputation, and the group’s experience there did not disappoint.
Having seated the group at a large table, our waiter brought a basket of bread served with a spicy olive oil and took an order for a round of drinks. The group decided on splitting two appetizers, the Antipasto and the Calamari. Both were excellent choices.
Main dished ordered were: Eggplant Parmesan served with Angel Hair Pasta, which the diner described as tender and mellow and served in a great sauce; Chicken Marsala served with ziti, described by the diner as great flavor and a sweet sauce; the Antique Table Fettucine w/Shrimp and Spinach, described by the diner as outstanding flavor and huge portion; Chicken Parmensan served with Fettucine, described by the diner as excellent.
For a Tuesday night, this restaurant was doing a great business with most tables occupied. This group gave this experience all thumbs up!

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago on a Tuesday and it was packed. Really good food!
I love the decor inside as much as the food!
(I had my wedding reception here when it was another owner. )

Ah.. another local Italian eatery to email and beg to keep gluten-free pasta on hand, so I don’t have to go to a chain or in town.. 🙂
Sadly, the other one didn’t respond to me..

Perhaps email isn’t the best way to approach them about this. Why not go in there, ask to speak to the chef or owner and let them know your needs. Show them that you would make the trip. I’m sure they would want to get your business, especially if you let them know about the Happens.
I’ve experimented with a gluten free diet and rice pasta is pretty good.

I think you’re right, Tom. I did do that in one case and it didn’t work, but I shouldn’t let that discourage me.
Did you experiment because you have a gluten intolerance? My sensitivity is so bad it may be celiac’s disease. I only cut out gluten as it became absolutely necessary. I miss it!

It was suspected as being the reason for some health problems I was undergoing. But it turned out to be something else.

But just as a follow up – one of my pet peeves is when a contact form or email is placed on a businesses web site and they don’t follow through on making use of it, or even checking it. I think in that case, no option to contact them via email should be provided.
There’s a whole younger generation out there that doesn’t know how to pick up a phone – not talking about me, of course. 😉
