What’s Goin’ On

Posted on July 1, 2010

This Saturday, July 3rd, the diversity represented in America, and specifically Lynn, will be celebrated with outstanding performers, workshops and delicious multi-cultural food provided by local vendors. The World Folk Fest at Lynn Heritage State Park from 2-7 PM is free (with the exception of the cost of food) and everyone is welcome to attend. To help support the event, there will be a raffle with all kinds of local goodies to promote our small businesses in Lynn. While you’re there, take a walk along the boardwalk and check out the cool multi-panel mosaic mural around the corner. See Lynn Happens for the schedule of performers.

After the Folk Fest, listen to Lois Lane and the Daily Planets play at Red Rock Park and ooh in awe of (or ooh and aww at) fireworks at the beach.

Finally, check out two blog posts. William Dowd chronicles the LAVA peace walk that took place on Saturday, June 26. Downtown Lynn gives us a peak into a recent Downtown Lynn Neighborhood Association meeting with State Representative Steve Walsh. Civic involvement is a good thing.
